BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 7 <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18 , 1992 <br /> • Special Town Meeting/Special Election: <br /> will eliminate the need for the town to spend money to lease office <br /> space indicates Selectman Vaccaro. There is something for all of us <br /> to gain with this proposal . It is alot of money, but it deserves our <br /> support . There is no reason to change the date of the Special Town <br /> Meeting. <br /> A 2/3rd ' s vote is required at Town Meeting to set the debt ex- <br /> clusion relates Selectman Vaccaro. The Town Clerk will then need <br /> four weeks . Selectman Vaccaro suggests to place the debt exclusion <br /> on the annual May ballot if the 2/3rd ' s vote is obtained . <br /> ****The motion was made by Selectman Vaccaro to go forward with the <br /> Special Town Meeting on March 16 , 1992 with the contingency if there <br /> is a 2/3rd ' s vote, to place the debt exclusion on the Annual Town <br /> Meeting election ballot in May. The motion was seconded by Selectman <br /> Mills . The vote is favorable. The vote is 3-1 . Selectman Caffyn is <br /> in opposition. <br /> Selectman Caffyn recommends for the School Building Committee <br /> to meet with the Board of Selectmen to understand the numbers so they <br /> are agreed upon. Selectman Mills suggests the Finance Committee, <br /> School Committee and Dr. DeMoura be present. at this meeting. <br /> Using Tom Fudala ' s figures, Selectman Caffyn relates the birth <br /> • plus five year growth for 1993 is 1251 children in the whole system. <br /> Selectman Mills relates that she does not want to see circulars <br /> sent out;tthrough the children that would portray false indications or <br /> scare tactics. This should portray accuracy and be based upon its <br /> merits . <br /> Adiournment : <br /> The decision of the Board is unanimous to enter into Executive <br /> Session at 9 : 30 p.m. to discuss negotiations . Selectman Jacobson <br /> polled the Board. All are in favor.
