BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 <br /> MINUTES <br /> . MONDAY, MARCH 9 , 1992 <br /> EXECUTIVE SECRETARY WEEKLY REPORT: <br /> possible office space for temporary housing of the Senior Center ' s <br /> office . <br /> The first reimbursement from FEMA has been received relates Mr. <br /> Harrington. The sum is approximately $57 ,000. <br /> A representative from FEMA viewed the town landfill . There are <br /> two large projects of debris to be disposed of. Reimbursement is de- <br /> pendent on the disposal . <br /> Mr. Harrington has talked with Elias McQuaid, and the Board of Health <br /> of this concern. An RFP will be used to determine disposal per cubic <br /> yard. <br /> The one page article for the Special Town Meeting Warrant is en- <br /> closed in the Board ' s package for review. An explanation is provided <br /> from the School Committee. <br /> The motion will give us the ability to bond for a short term. The <br /> Annual Town Meeting Warrant will be available for the Board to review <br /> next week. <br /> Mr. Harrington will be in Boston on Wednesday to testify at the <br /> State House on the proposed legislation regarding how we purchase health <br /> care. <br /> Residents of Jackbon Road presented ten signatures in concern of <br /> the Town ' s recent action. A meeting is scheduled for March 23 , 1992 <br /> to discuss this issue. The DPW Director will be present for this dis- <br /> cussion. <br /> Regarding Ockry ' s Trading Post, Town Counsel advised to hold a <br /> public hearing to revoke the liquor license. The bank will be notified <br /> of the public hearing to be held on March 23 , 1992 . <br /> 7 : 26 p.m. Jack Sheppard re: Fishing Tournaments/Mashpee-Wakeby Pond : <br /> The policy to grant permission to hold tournaments has been changed <br /> by the Public Access Board . The clubs notify the town first . If the <br /> town concurs , the Public Access Board will support the request of the <br /> town. It gives the town ability to be proactive relates Mr . Harrington. <br /> Selectman Jacobson indicates her concern to the 6 : 00 a.m. starting <br /> time . Mr. Shepard relates this can be indicated under special conditions . <br /> A $50 fine will be issued if a club does not obtain a permit and uses <br /> the pond. <br /> It was noted the capacity of Mashpee-Wakeby is 35 parking spaces <br /> for tournament users. Eighteen spaces are available for�non-c-lubfuser-s,. <br /> Additional parking is available at Crane Wildlife. <br /> An Environmental Police Officer is required toybe present for the <br /> large groups requesting permission to hold a tournament. Mr. Shepard <br /> will speak with Director Murray of this concern. The EPO should arrive <br /> • on time and be present for the entire length of the tournament . Records <br /> should indicate proof that the. EPO was there and paid for his services . <br /> Mr. Shepard indicates the town has the right to control what goes <br /> on at the boat ramp. The Public Access Board favors input from the town <br />
