BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 9 MINUTES • MONDAY, APRIL 27 , 1992 Senior Center Addition: ****The motion was made by Selectman Mills to award the bid of the Senior Center Addition to Vidal Construction of East Falmouth. The price is not to exceed $256 , 900. The motion was seconded by Selectman Caffyn . VOTE: Unanimous . 4-0 . ****The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to authorize the , Chairman of the Board of Selectmen to execute the contract when received. The motion was seconded by Selectman Vaccaro. VOTE: Unanimous — 4-0. 9 :42 p.m. Committee Handbook for review Town Counsel will reveiw the ramifications with regards to Special Municipal Employee ' s. It-j.5--the agreement of the Board -1 1to hold the execution of the Committee handbook`at ,this�time.l ,' Pimlico Pond Road : Greg Taylor discussed the construction cost of the redesigned 1100 ' portion of Pimlico Pond Road . He reports the • anticipated cost of the new road is $124 , 300. The donation account has a balance of $25 , 000. Total funds needed to secure through Chapter 90 funds is $99, 300. Mr. Taylor relates that this is on his high priority list of road construction. Mr. Taylor will inquire of Doyle Engineering, Inc. as to the specific costs involved . Counsel relates that there is no appraisal required . He indicates the proposal is for the Town to acquire ownership to the road as straightened . Selectman Caffyn asked if the engineering costs will be paid for by the Thompson family? Attorney Fitch relates that it was not a refined agreement as to the Thompson family to prepare all of the plans up to the taking. Attorney Fitch indicates there is preliminary approval with the Planning Board . They want the taking completed prior to a vote of the definitive plan. His client will make all efforts to cooperate . The engineering costs are approximately $8 ,000 indicates Mr. Taylor . Town Counsel relates the legal fees would probably be $600 maximum. Mr. Taylor will call Doyle Engineering. The Board will discuss this further on Thursday evening. Fiscal Policy : Future revenue to review includes the cranberry bogs and the • possibility to privatize the ambulance service and include volunteers in the Fire Department. An important consideration is to maintain the debt schedule indicates Mr. Harrington. Many projects may have to be postponed , deferred or placed over a longer period of time. This report presents a program of decision making that can occur with some rationality .
