A,'•
,z4 OF Coote
2.
The survey is an example of "the cart before the horse"
Public meetings should take place prior to completion
of the survey by town citizens. It is analogous to taking
a test before reading the book. An unintormed electorate
completing this survey should have a better understanding
of the ramifications of their responses. As it will affect
taxes, education, town services and the very character of
the town. '
In conclusion, a survey of the citizens of Mashpee is an
excellent idea. But it must be taken in a scientific manner
which will truly represent the priorities of the citizens.
The survey that was circulated will not do that . And can
only be construed as a political instrument which could he
psed to confirm a predetermined agenda.
Sincerely,
MASHPEE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
•
P.O.
