4 <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 <br /> MINUTES <br /> AUGUST 31 1992 <br /> On behalf of the Board of Selectmen, Selectman Vaccaro <br /> commended the Mashpee Arts Council, Chamber of Commerce and <br /> Community Concert Committee for the terrific event on Saturday <br /> night . <br /> The performance by the Cape Cod Symphony and fireworks were <br /> spectacular relates Selectman Vaccaro, It was a fine community <br /> event , Special thanks were given to the members of the Mashpee <br /> Fire Department men who volunteered their time for this event . <br /> PUBLIC DISCUSSION: <br /> Al Pol i asked if there i8 a recommendation on file relative <br /> o possible sites for a future Town Hall . He rotes that this has <br /> not been an agenda item of discussion and suggests to place the <br /> recommendation of possible sites or the Town Meeting Warrant to <br /> let the voters decide. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicates. that he, was involved in the <br /> committee with Selectman Jacobson, Mr. Harrington and John <br /> Ferguson to review the possibility of temporary office space. H <br /> relates that no conclusion or recommendation was made by the <br /> committee . <br /> Selectman Vaccaro notes that he has a file of information <br /> collected that he will share with Mr . Polsi ., He relates that we <br /> have to establish a Master Plan to define Mashpee ' s needs , One <br /> of which is clearly office space indicates Selectman Vaccaroe <br /> Selectman Vaccaro has recommended that' Mr, Polsi join the <br /> committee , He suggests to obtain input from Mr . Whri eno r when <br /> he becomes the new Executive Secretary. <br /> Mr. Min erella was present to discuss his concern regarding a <br /> citation that he was issued. on this date by the Mashpee Police <br /> Department , He notes that he sells corn that he grows on the <br /> corner of - Orchard load and Rte , 289 <br /> The citation amounts to $300 informs Mr« Minerella . He has <br /> been selling corn for thirteen years without incident. He <br /> informs the Hoard that he has a hawkers and peddlers license <br /> issued by the state of Massachusetts . <br /> Mr, Mi erel la claims that he has been harassed four time5in <br /> one week by Mashpee employees . He notes that he was in <br /> Barnstable selling corn and a Mashpee Police officer stated that <br /> he has no right to be there . on July 29 , 1992 , a foreman of the <br /> DPW Department told him to move from the private site of Randolph <br /> Peters and -called hire obscene names , Mr. Minerel la notes that <br /> has talked with Mr. Taylor who has refused to acknowledge the <br /> complaint . <br />
