BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page MINUTES MONDAY r A V LAS 1 1 l 2 - Fire Chief : Out of Town Travel : Chief Ridgeway has asked for administrative leave for the .purpose of out of town travel to Maryland to instruct the program "Fire Leadership and Communications" Suring the orates of August 17-21 , 1992 , There will be no additional cost to the town for the approval of this request relates Chief Ridgeway. He will be using his own vehicle . The Fire Academy provides. travel r lodging and per diem expenses . There are many taneable benefits to the attendance informs- Chief Ridgeway. ***The notion was mace by selectman Jacobson to grant the Administrative leave of Chief Ridgeway for out' of town travel t attend the National Fire Academy -from August 17-21 , 1992 . The motion was seconded by selectman Vaccaro, VOTE: Favorable, -1. Selectman Costa is in opposition. COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE None at this time. OLD BUSINESS Outstanding Appointments : Waterways Commission : *The motion was made by Selectman Costa to appo iht Michael . Grot z e, Frank Homeyer, onal'd Lunde Lew Schwartz, Frederick Fordham and Bennet Gordon for a term to expire on June 30 , 1993 . The one year appointment is made until the- Executive Secretary revises the appointment policy. Selectman Costa notes that the one year appointment recommendation does not reflect on one person, but the need to resolve the appointment process. Attorney Morse recommends to not make the appointments or to follow the 'Town bylaw, *The motion was mace by Selectman Mills to appoint; Michael Grotz e . Frank Homeyer for a term to expireJune 30, 19930 Donald Lund Lew Schwartz for a two year term to expire June 30, 1994. Frederick Fordham Bennett Gordon, Jr. for a three year tern to expire June 30, 1995 . The length of term was determined y the attendants of the different members of the commission, The motion was seconded by Selectman Vaccaro, VOTE* Unanimous. - .
