t � . <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> • MINUTES <br /> THURSDAY,AUGUST 20, 1992 <br /> Present: Selectman Caffyn, Selectman Vaccaro, Selectman Mills , <br /> Selectman Jacobson, Selectman Costa <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br /> Guests : Rita Sousa , Jane Stockbridge, Deidre Greelish <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Caffyn at 6 :08 p.m. <br /> EXECUTIVE SECRETARY REPORT: <br /> Mr. Whritenour made note of the recent draft of the revised <br /> Cherry Sheets and the key changes from the original. <br /> Of the $23 ,000,000 lottery fund, Mashpee is to receive the <br /> allocation of $34,048 . Mashpee will also receive the sum of <br /> $113 ,008 per pupil expenditure. Mr. Whritenour indicates that <br /> the $100 per pupil expenditure was approved and is equal to <br /> educational opportunity grant funds. The funds are to go to the <br /> School Department, but not usually appropriated in the regular <br /> School budget . <br /> Additional reimbursement for state owned land amounts to <br /> $124 , 865 informs Mr. Whritenour. Changes in county tax will give <br /> • an additional $125,000 in funding capacity. <br /> This should be addressed in the October Town Meeting relates <br /> Mr. Whritenour. Options include placement in the Reserve <br /> Account, Stabilization, Overlay or funding of other articles . <br /> Mr. Whritenour indicates that it is not knowbto date as to <br /> what is available for appropriation. This will be determined in <br /> a few weeks . He notes that it is approximately $300,000. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro asks if the tax bills will be sent out on <br /> time? Mr. Whritenour indicates that there will be a preliminary <br /> tax bill sent out for October 1 , 1992 . He notes that the numbers <br /> are used prior to the update of the cherry sheet. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro asks if Mashpee will receive credit from <br /> Falmouth with regards to the per pupil state aid? Mrs. Greelish <br /> indicates that a memo was received from Falmouth crediting <br /> tuition.n. She notes that approximately 250 Mashpe students attend <br /> Falmouth High School. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro recommends to review the existing budget <br /> and the unemployment insurance account. <br /> • <br />
