He noted that dredging to improve one area, <br /> reduces the current in another area . <br /> Selectman Mills agrees to incorporate a long tern solution <br /> to improve the flushing of the M .pee River. <br /> Mr, Sherman indicated that the state can issue an emergency <br /> certification. He will ' offer all reasonable assistance to aid in <br /> this concern. <br /> Mr. Wir i tenour indicated that the proponent of the project <br /> should demonstrate to the regulatory agency information as to why <br /> the area is a public safety ratter of concern. <br /> Mr, Home er made mote of Town Meeting action in, 1985 <br /> instructing the Board of Selectmen to take an area of Popponeset <br /> Beach for the deposit of dredging spoils. He indicated that this <br /> area is located near the closed shellfish grant area . This may <br /> aid in getting the state involved and may eliminate DEP <br /> regulations as to the placement of sand on the beach, <br /> p.m. COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Included in the Selectmen ' s packet is the monthly report of <br /> expense materials and revenue indicated Mr. Whritenour, He <br /> recommends the ]hoard review the report for discussion next week. <br /> Included in the- report is the requested PAP inforr action @ <br /> communication was received from the National Guard in <br /> response to Popponsset Island bridge, temporary bridging indicated <br /> Mr. Whritenour, At this time , they are unable to offer <br /> assistance. <br /> Correspondence was received from Mr. Watson of the Cape <br /> Poultry Para in Fore tdale informed Mr. Whritenour, Mr . Watson <br /> asks t be placed on the Selectmen ' agenda to discuss solid waste <br /> management and alternatives to dispose of yard waste. <br /> Mr, Whritenour recommends to forward this matter to the Board of <br /> Health at this time. The Board is in agreement, <br /> A memo was received from Greg Taylor relative to an open <br /> house on January 16 , 1993 from 8 :00 a.m.. to 10 ,*. 00 a .m. located at <br /> the Department of Public Works building. T .is will give the <br /> Selectmen an opportunity to review the operations and resources <br /> of the DPW Department . <br />
