PAID OF SELECTMEN Page <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JANUARY 1 1 199 - - - - - ---- <br /> Director of Public Works re : Curb Cut Permit Poli : <br /> Mr. Taylor presented a policy relative to curb cut permits <br /> for review. If a curb cut permit has an impact on an <br /> intersection, Mr,, Taylor proposes the applicant hire an <br /> independent technical consultant to review the application. <br /> The fee for the technical consultant is recommended to b <br /> billed directly to the applicant and be included as part of the <br /> permit fee . The consulting fee is not to exceed $5,000. <br /> Selectman Dills indicated that -the above concept should <br /> include specific detail as to applicability of curb cut permits. <br /> Mr. Taylor i nd.i sated that the intent is primarily for <br /> commercial use. The second opinion obtained from the consultant <br /> will assure what is best for the Town in the long range scenario <br /> related Mr. Taylor. <br /> Mr. Whritenour made the recommendation to obtain input from <br /> the DPW Director with regards to the scope of any traffic related <br /> study. We should coordinate with our local boards. Mr. Taylor <br /> is in agreement .. <br /> Mr. Taylor will return with a revision of the proposal <br /> relative to curb cut permits. <br /> DPT Director re: l eleaf - Grant <br /> Mr, Taylor indicated that he has been working with the Tree <br /> Warden to obtain funding for the improvement of Heritage Park. <br /> A letter of support is requested to apply for funding through the <br /> MA Peleaf Grant. The intent is to provide shade trees in the <br /> area informed Mr, Taylor. <br /> Mr. Taylor indicated that the arrant application must be <br /> completed in early February for funding consideration. The <br /> Department of Public Works will supply the labor to plant and <br /> maintain the trees for three gears. <br /> *The motion was made by Selectman Costa to approve the grant <br /> submission to MA Peleaf for shade gees to be planted at Heritage <br /> Park. The motion was seconded by selectman Mills. VOTE: <br /> Unanimous . 5-00 <br />
