Y i <br /> ■ <br /> BOARD CE SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, JANUARY 2 , 19093 <br /> Present : Selectman Mills , - Selectman Jacobson, Selectman Costa <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br /> Absent : Selectman Caffyny Selectman Vaccaro <br /> Guests : Deidre Greelish, Anne Shaw, Paul Cttr Ben Gordon, <br /> Steven Bali, Rita Sousa , Jane Stockbridge, Dr. DeMoura <br /> Meeting Called to order by Selectman Mills at 7 : 00 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Monday, January 11 , 1993 Regular and Executive Sessions <br /> Thursday, January 14, 1993 Regular Session <br /> F <br /> *It is the agreement of the Board to defer the acceptance of <br /> the above minutes at this time . <br /> PUBLIC DISCUSSION: <br /> Treasurer and vice-President of Save the Bay, Kevin <br /> Harrington was present to discuss the emergency situation <br /> relative to Popponesset Spit . <br /> Mr. Harrington made reference to the draft as submitted by <br /> the Army Oor'P of Engineers. ' According to the draft , it is <br /> estimated to take one to two years to study the problem noted <br /> Mr. Harrington, If nothing is dome to the Suit, within three to <br /> five years , the Spit could be completely awash and underwater. <br /> Sage the Bay is attempting to do something now informed <br /> Mr, Harrington, As of Fridayf we have received permission from <br /> the State to conduct emergency dredging actions. <br /> cpelman and Paige was asked to review the liability issues <br /> as per the vote of the Board informed Mr, Whr ,i e our. <br /> indemnification has been requested by Town Counsel to protect the <br /> Town ' s interest , An insurance certificate alone is not enough to <br /> fully protect the Town noted Mr. Whritenour . <br /> It is the opinion of Town Counsel that the insurance alone <br /> either by Sage the Bay or Gilmore Marine i <br />
