BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11 1993, <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br />Letter of Appreciation: A letter was received from Deer <br />Crossing Condominiums in appreciation for the implementation of <br />snow removal in the area of Shell Back Way. *The Board is in <br />agreement to discuss the policy relative to snow plowing. <br />Correspondence from Town Counsel re: Appointment of <br />Building Inspector: It is the opinion of Kopelman and Paige that <br />the Board of Selectmen are the Chief Administrative Officers <br />informed Selectman Caffyn. It is their opinion that this is to <br />prevail regardless of the conflict that appears in the Town <br />bylaws. In order to correct the appearance of a conflict, Town <br />Counsel has advised to delete the Executive Secretary as Chief <br />Administrative f ficer as it, appears in the bylaws. *'The Board <br />is in agreement to submit the change in the May Town Meeting for <br />clarification. The opinion from Kopelman and Paige will he <br />included for clarification. Mr. Whri tenour noted that the <br />opinion now settles the issue regarding the appointment of the <br />Building Inspector. <br />Communication from the Department of the Air Force; MA <br />Military Reservation: Commanders Briefing - Friday, <br />February 5, 1993 1 :00 a.m. <br />Camp Edwards Master Plan Meeting: Thursday, February 13th; <br />: 00 p . & - Sandwich Public is Library* <br />Future Agenda Item: Street Lighting/Utilities <br />Council on Actin - Move to Senior Center: A memo was <br />submitted from Selectman Jacobson to the DPW Director in <br />appreciation for the assistance to move the Council on Aging to <br />the newly renovated Senior Center. The efforts of the DPW <br />employee's, in particular Ray Martini and Leigh Potter gave <br />service above and beyond the call of duty. *The memo from <br />Selectman Jacobson will be submitted to the above employee's for <br />their service to the Council on Aging. <br />DARE Telethon: The DARE Telethon was held on Sundayr <br />January 31, 1993. Selectman Mills, Selectman Jacobson and <br />Selectman Costa donated their time along with Mrs. Dati. <br />Approximately $00 was raised in support of Mashpee's Drug Abuse <br />Resistance Education and Peer Leadership programs. *The Board is <br />in agreement to express thanks to the anonymous Matshpee <br />businessman who matched donations up to $3000 <br />Selectman Jacobson expressed thanks to the Executive Secretary <br />and Treasurer for their efforts relative to the recent bond sale, <br />She noted that it is nice to }snow that we have created a good impression <br />4D elsewhere. <br />
