' k BOARD of SELECTMEN MINUTES TUESDA, FEBRUARY 16, 1993 Present: Selectman o caf fyn, Selectman vaccaro r Selectman Mills, Selectman costa Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour Guests: Bill Martiros Meeting a Ile to order by Chairman caf fyn a : 3 2 p.m. PUBLIC DISCUSSION: Bill Martiros was present on behalf of the Mashpee Taxpayers Association to discuss the recent survey with the Board. He requests to he placed on the agenda to discuss the survey results and possible implementation f recommendations as made by the taxpayers who contributed to the survey. Selectman vaccaro noted that there is no statistical validity to the survey, The people who have responded to the survey appear to have an interest in Town government. The survey describes how the respondents feel. Selectman Caffyn recommended to review the results of Torn Fu gala' s survey and rake comparisons. The Board is in agreement to schedule -the Taxpayers Survey on the agenda of February 22, 1993. Recommendations o-f the Taxpayers Association and important aspects of the survey will be discussed. COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: WH I Research center: Selectman caffyn indicated that she has obtained a proposal from a professional design firm relative to marketing Mashpee for the Woods Dole Research Center project* The proposal includes a presen ation,'1i e show and site review informed Selectman caf yn for the amount of $6000, If Mashpee is not considered for the Woods Hole project, this type of package e and presentation will promote Mashpee for further economic development informed Selectman Caffyn.. We need to hire a professional organization to direct Woods Hole to come to Mashpee related Selectman caffyn. The sub- committee can not do this type of research and presentation without professional assistance. Selectman Caffyn noted that Tom Fuda.la has eleven pieces of Mashpee property to consider for the Woods Hole prof ect . 0
