BOARD of SELECTMEN Page 5 <br />MINUTES <br />M NBA , MARCH 1, 1993 <br />NEW BUSINESS* <br />Application for Appointment as Constable: <br />Michael P. Logan of 94R Lakewood Drive, Mashpee was present <br />to discuss his application for appointment as Constable in the <br />Town of Mashpee. <br />Mr. Whritenour noted that at this time, Mashpee has eleven <br />Constables. All terns are to expire on June 30, 1993. The <br />Selectmen may appoint as many Constables as they deem necessary <br />informed Mr, Whr i tenour . <br />Enclosed for review was a background investigation report on <br />Michael Logan as'submitted by Deputy Chief of Police, Maurice <br />Cooper dated February 13, 19930 <br />Mr. Logan indicated that he has resided in Mashpee for <br />approximately one year. His business; Paragon Investigations i <br />located in East Falmouth. <br />Mr. Loam related that his appointment as Constable will <br />allow hire to expand his services to his attorney clients in this <br />area and serve his community. He noted that he is a licensed <br />private detective. <br />**The motion was made by Selectman Costa to approve of the <br />appointment of Michael P. Logan as a Constable in the Town of <br />Mashpee. The motion was seconded by Selectman vaccaro. VOTE <br />Unanimous. - . <br />:5 p., Public Hearing: <br />Cafe 13 - Request to Close <br />Correspondence was received from Diane Cloutier; Manager of <br />Cafe 13 dated January 11, 1993 and February 16, 1993 requesting <br />the Board allow her operation to remain dormant until the <br />spring, Nis. Cloutier indicated in her letters that -due to <br />e onomi s�, it is unfeasible to operate -Cafe 130 during the winter <br />months,. <br />Mr. Whritenour has recommended the Board approve the closure <br />of Cafe 130 until April 11 1993. He noted that this license may <br />be changed in the future to a seasonal license, It is not known <br />at this time if the business will re -open. Mr. W r i tenour <br />indicated that the pending sale has not transpired to date. <br />There are no pending liquor license applications at this times <br />is Selectman Caffyn closed the Public Hearing. <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Costa to approve the closure <br />of Cafe 130 until April. 1, 1993. The motion was seconded by <br />Selectman vaccaro. VOTE: Unanimou , 5- . <br />
