BOARD of SELECTMEN Page 2 <br />MINUTES <br />THURSDAY, MARCH H 18, 1993 Con ervation Agent re; Torn Meeting Warrant Article: <br />Robert Sherman was present to discuss his proposal to <br />present two Town Meeting articles to createand/or extend the <br />position of Administrative Clerk for the Conservation Departments <br />Mr. Sherman indicated that the position was appointed on a <br />temporary basis as a result of Hurricane Bob and related storms, <br />The current work load of the Conservation Department is up 3% <br />informed Mr. Sherman. <br />Mr. Sherman indicated that the Clerk is funded through <br />reserve receipt funds as supplied by the State. He has proposed <br />two articles for the position because he feels the Finance <br />Committee will recommend against creating the position. He noted <br />that the funding is derived from the Conservation Commission <br />reserve receipts account and not funded by the Town. <br />Jane Stockbridge of Personnel recommended to delete the <br />word; permanent as it appears in the proposed article and insert <br />the word; regular. <br />Mr. Sherman indicated that there is an approximate$300 <br />difference between the two proposed articles. The regular Clerk <br />funded at 13 hours per week would receive; $7,693.92. The <br />temporary Clerk at 18 hours per week would receive; $7,319.5210 <br />Selectman vaccaro recommended to refer the proposal to the <br />Personnel Board for review. He noted that one article creates a <br />position and the second, extends the position for another fiscal <br />year. <br />Mr. Sherman noted that the position is contingent upon the <br />availability of funds to be continued for another fiscal year <br />and/or an as needed basis. He indicated that the money would ' be <br />appropriated at Town Meeting for Conservational use. <br />*The Board �is in agreement to discuss the proposal with the <br />Personnel Board and Finance Committee. Mrs Sherman will be <br />present for the discussion. <br />Executive Secretary Review: <br />**The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to approve the <br />evaluation process of the Executive Secretary as completed, The <br />sure of 150will be added to Mr. Whritenour's. annual salary; <br />retroactive to his anniversary date.
