BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTE <br />MO TDA , MARCH 22 , 1993 <br />Tax Classification Hearina�: <br />The Joint Meeting of the Board of Selectmen and Water <br />District Commi s i oners convened at 7 : 1 p-s m . Burt Kaplan,, Albert <br />Orlando .and Richard Halpern present. <br />David Bailey and Assessors; Rober-t T eL ry, Kenneth Porter <br />and Les Greig were also present for the discussion., <br />Selectman Vaccaro opened the Public Hearing to solicit <br />public comment on the allocation of the tax levy by <br />classification of property. <br />David Bailey reviewed the Residential Exemption and Tax <br />Burden Shift, (Split Tax Rate Mr, Bailey indicated that the <br />Board of Assessors do not recommended the re.sidential exemption. <br />-selectman Vaccaro Closed the Public Hearing at 7:20 p.. <br />Burt Kaplan closed the Public Hearing at 7:29 p.m. <br />Mr. Kaplan; on behalf of the -the Water District <br />Commiss.ibners has recommended to vote against the residential <br />exemption and maintain are equal tax rate. <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Mills to adopt are equal tax <br />rate for the Town of Ma tepee and not a residential exemption. <br />The motion was seconded by Selectman Costa. VOTE: Unanimous, <br />4-0 . <br />*The vote of the Water District Commissioners 'is unanimous to <br />adopt an equal tax rate and not a residential exempt i.on . <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Seasonal Liquor License Renewal Discusssion-. h <br />The inspection reports as filed by the Building Inspector, <br />Board of Health, Chief of Police, Fire Chief and Tax Collector <br />were enclosed for -review with regards to seasonal Liquor License <br />Holders. <br />Mr. Whritenour indicated that all fee t s' and application's <br />must be submitted to the Office of the Board of Selectmen by <br />Tuesday, Marcy 30, 1993 , <br />Mr, Whritenour recommended the Board renew the seasonal <br />Liquor Licenses under the automatic provisions of the license. A <br />separate meeting can be scheduled with respect to the management <br />aspect. <br />
