BOARD OF SELECTMEN page <br />I U 1 <br />THURDAY, MARCH-- , 1993 <br />Discussion of Town Meeting Warrant: Draft 29 <br />Anne Shaw present for the discussion. <br />Article 14: This article has been withdrawn. <br />Article Anne Shaw discussed -the proposal of Early <br />Retirement Incentive with the Board. She noted that the Board <br />can vote to limit the number of participants based. -upon the <br />number of years of creditable service. Participants have to <br />retire by - July 1, 1993 informed Nis. Shaw. <br />The Board of Selectmen can -.establish a limit of up to five <br />years of -retirement age, five years of service or a combination <br />not to exceed five years informed Ms. Shaw. <br />Anne Shaw indicated that she does not recommend this article <br />at this time, The Executive.Secretary concurs.. <br />*The Board is in agreement to place Article 4 on hold at <br />this time for -further review. <br />Article 1: Nis. Shaw presented a description of Chapter -4, <br />Section 22 F as it pertains to Municipal User Fees. The proposed <br />article. atllows .for a department to recover full cost of service <br />from users informed Ms. Shaw. <br />*The Board is in agreement to obtain a specific legal ruling <br />from Town Counsel with regards o Article 13 and the <br />establishment of guidelines and fee structure. <br />Acting Fire Chief George Baker present for discussion. <br />Article 2: It was noted that a new ambulance costs <br />approximately $110r000. Mr, whriten ur indicated that the <br />Ambulance Reserve Receipts Account will have a deficit 10,00 <br />for Town Meeting appropriation. <br />*The Board is in ,agreement to consult Town Counsel with <br />regards to the finance mechanism to obtain Town Meeting approval <br />to purchase a new ambulance for the Fire Department. <br />Article 29: Mr, Daher indicated that his department is in <br />need of an administrative transportation vehicle. The estimated <br />cost to purchase a sedan type vehicle is $15,0000 <br />*The Board is in agreement to place this article on hold <br />until further review from the Finance Committee. It is the <br />consensus of the Board to purchase a four wheel drive vehicle <br />such as a Ford Explorer. <br />
