The question is how can the Water District <br />secure easement from the .Town to use this area as a well site <br />informed Attorney Henchy. . He noted that it requires- 2 r " s of <br />Town Meeting Grote to authorize the Board of selectmen to grant an <br />easement to the Water District. <br />Mr, Kaplan an indicated that of the four town'town's abutting Otis , . <br />this area of Ma s pee has the potential for the best -water source <br />it the four town area. <br />Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent -indicated as per his memo <br />of April 1, 1993 that the- Conservation -Commission agrees with the <br />issues and -concerns as raised by the Town -Planner with rewards to <br />the proposed well in the Holland Mill, area. <br />Town -Planner, Tom Fudala was present for discussion and <br />addressed several concerns for consideration a-s contained in his <br />memo of March 16, 19938 <br />The site is not recommended by Mr. Fudala as a result of <br />potential negative impact to the required zoning regulations o <br />the commercial/industrial/high density housing area. DEP <br />requires zoning protection in the zone II recharge area informed <br />Mr. Fudala. <br />A. private waste water treatment plant has been approved in <br />this area informed Mr. Fudala for the Quashnet Woods <br />Development, t o condominiums <br />The commercial/industrial area will be restricted as to the <br />ability of an industrial operation indicated Mr. Fudala. He <br />recommended that no action be taken. regarding this site without. <br />informing and consulting. the Natural Heritage Program. <br />Mir. Fudala also indicated that the land in question was set <br />aside permanently as -open space under the cluster subdivision <br />provisions of Ch. 40A, section 9 of the zoning bylaw. <br />Mr, WhrYitenour asked the Water District of their overall <br />future planning efforts and other potential sites currently being <br />r ear i ewe d . <br />It was noted that the Water District is currently reviewing <br />fire other potential sites. The DEP regulatory process involves <br />a lengthy thirteen step process. <br />r1 <br />
