BOARD OF SELECTMENPage <br />MINUTES <br />MNDA , APRIL b 26, 1 - - - <br />COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Open House: Senior Center Sunday May 1, 1993 <br />2 :0 - p.m. <br />Association for the Preservation of Cape Cod: Communication <br />was received from Sue Nickerson in support of the wildlife refuge <br />proposal, <br />Wildlife Refuge Proposal: Further support from Tom cahir, <br />the Cape o-d -commission and Tony Ferragamo - Planning Board. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Bass E i sh i n Tournament <br />Selectman Jacobson related concerns to a recent incident <br />that occurred at Mashpee/Wakeby Pond, A complaint was received <br />from a resident of the pond about a fishing line left on their <br />dock by a bass fisherman informed Selectman Jacobson. <br />The lure and line was retrieved from the dock by Selectman <br />Jacobson. She indicated that the boat number was obtained. The <br />Harbormaster discussed this concern with the bass fisherman, but <br />enforcement d i d not prevail. <br />The Board expressed concern as to the Harbormaster's <br />enforcement powers on the water. The Harbormaster will be <br />requested to discuss this concern with the Board. <br />Selectman Jacobson also made mote of a recent incident <br />whereby illegal dumping occurred in the pond. Mr. Whritenour <br />indicated that it is illegal to dump in any body,of water. The <br />Town of Mashpee will prosecute any violators to the fullest <br />extent -of the law. Mr. Whritenour indicated that the debris was <br />removed from the pond,. <br />Ben Gordon of the Waterways commission indicated that a <br />Letter has been submitted to Wayne McCallumwith regards to the <br />enforcement of a "safe zone,, In which fishermen cannot cast their <br />lures. The Waterways commission is awaiting response to this <br />concern. <br />Mr. Gordon also indicated that he will follow up on the <br />recommendations of the WWC as made to the Public Access Board. <br />0 <br />
