BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />�' ONDAY r�N 1 , 19 9 <br />10:05 p.m, OLD BUSINESS: <br />School Surplus: <br />***The motion was made by selectman Ca f fyn to submit <br />communication to the School Committee requesting no funds be <br />expended unless the need is absolutely critical. All surplus <br />funds should be returned to the Town' s General Fund. The snot ion <br />was seconded by Selectman Costa* VOTE: Unanimous. - . <br />Jrr High, school: <br />Selectman Caff rn- has requested to receive a copy of the <br />Mission Statement as set forte by the Jr Sr High School Building <br />Committee, She indicated that the community aspect of the jr/sr <br />high school is critical to the mission statement. <br />Proposed Summer shuttle <br />Approximately forty residents attended the public hearing <br />held by the Cade Cod Regional Transit .Authority on this date to <br />discuss the summer shuttle proposal informed Selectman Jacobson. <br />Approximately five residents voiced support of the shuttle <br />proposal. Many citizens expressed concern with cost factors and <br />use of private beaches. <br />Selectman Caffyn indicated that the Chamber' was supportive <br />of the proposal. The concept intended to bring people to Mashp ee <br />Commons and not private beaches noted selectman Caffyno <br />e should review the whole package and what it is costing us <br />now -indicated Selectman Caffyn, With little ridership, we are <br />currently paying $17,000. <br />Selectman Jacobson recommended to review the proposal for <br />further clarification and possibly implement the program next <br />year. Several areas need to be addressed and properly defined. <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to submit <br />communication to the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority <br />requesting the withdrawal of the shuttle request at this tire, <br />The motion was seconded by Selectman Mills.
