T I r BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page MINUTES 40 MCNDAY, JUNE 28, 1993 - - - - - - Jane Stockbridge re: Petition: Margie Pierce presented a signed petition on behalf of Christine Donovan to -the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen. Nis. Pierce indicated that approximately 140 signatures were collected in two days in support of Ms. Donovan. Ms. Donovan has been cheerful, patient, outgoing and i compassionate in nature informed Nis. Pierce. She is an ambassador of good will for Mashpee. She ha.s changed the atmosphere of the Senior Center, We are pleased with the implementation of innovative programs informed Ms, Pierce. Nis. Donovan came to the Senior Center at a time of maximum disarray indicated Nis. Pierce. The center was unfinished. Ms, Donovan had to plan and coordinate the move to the center. Ms. Pierce urged the Board to support and confirm the re- appointment of M. Donovan as Council on Aging Director. Many seniors also spoke in support of Nis, Donovan and her efforts. Jane Stockbridge indicated that Ms. Donovan recently wrote and attained a grant from the Executive Office of Elder Af f a.i r s related to a breast cancer forum and examination for seniors. Nis. Stockbridge requested the Board appoint Ms. Donovan as Council on Aging Director. She is honest with compassion and a sense of humor. She has a commitment to excellence and has gained the respect of others in her profession indicated s. Stockbridge.
