BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, JUNE 2191--1993 <br />Reappointments: Items placed on Hold <br />Mr. Whritenour indicated that he is satisfied with Town <br />Counsel's services, Overall., the firm is eompteent and <br />obieotive. Mr. W ritenour recommended to retain the services of <br />opelman and Paige and address the budgetary areas of concern <br />with Leonard Kopelman . <br />Selectman Caffyn recommended to contact Department Heads on <br />a quarterly basis to update the hoard on Town Counsel's <br />services. <br />***The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to reappoint <br />Kopelman and Paige, P.C, as Town Counsel for a term to expose <br />June 30, 1994. The motion was seconded by Selectman Costa, <br />NOTE: Passes. -2. Selectman Mills and Selectman Vaccaro are <br />in opposition. <br />Waterways Commission: Michael rotzke: <br />The above appointment was placed on hold by Selectman <br />Jacobson. Selectman Jacobson indicated that Mr. Grotzke is <br />employed by a large property owner and developer, New Seabury <br />Corporation. She asked -if Mr. Grotzke would submit a letter to <br />the Board stating that he will not participate in discussions <br />that involve his employer or property owned.by his employer. <br />Selectman Costa agreed. It would be in his best interest to <br />not vote for issues he is involved with, He recommended to <br />obtain a letter from Mr. Grotzke stating the above as suggested <br />to be without Conflict of interest. <br />Selectman -Mills indicated that each individual who serves on <br />the waterways represents a body of water that is revelent to <br />their interest. Mr. Grotzke represents the business interest of <br />the Waterways Commission informed Selectman Mills* <br />*The motion was made by Selectman dills to appoint Michael <br />rotzke to the Waterways Commission for a term to expire June 30f <br />1996. The motion was seconded by Selectman Vaccaro. VOTE <br />2-2. Motion Fails, Selectman Caffyn and Selectman Jacobson are <br />in opposition, Selectman Costa abstained from voting. <br />Economic Development Committee <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to appoint; <br />Thomas Potts, Frank Fantasia, Sidney sterns, Nelson <br />Andrews, Marianne vosburgh and Edward Grosso to the <br />Waterways Commission for a term to expire June 30, 1994. The <br />motion was seconded by Selectman Costa. NOTE: Unanimous. -08 <br />
