BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 10 <br />MINUTES <br />. MONDAY JULY 26 1993 <br />Sharon Travers -Gay re: Community Action Statement: <br />The Mass. Small Cities Program (MSCP) provides funding for <br />a variety of community development, economic development and <br />housing needs informed Ms. Travers -Gay. <br />Cities and towns with populations of less that 50,000 are <br />eligible applicants noted Ms. Travers -Gay. The identification of <br />community development needs as submitted to EOCD remain on record <br />for three years. Community development needs can be modified <br />during this time noted Ms. Travers -Gay. <br />All grants are competitive and based upon community needs <br />informed Ms. Travers -Gay. The Small Cities Grant application is <br />due on September 10, 1993 informed Ms. Travers -Gay. <br />***The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to approve the <br />prioritization of Community Development Needs as presented by <br />Ms. Travers -Gay. The motion was seconded by Selectman Mills. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />ua <br />Steve Greelish of the Jr/Sr High School Building Committee <br />was present to discuss the recommended appraisal selection <br />process for the proposed jr/sr high school. <br />As approved by the committee, the two phase project is <br />recommended to be conducted by the appraisal firm of Paul O'Leary <br />and Martin Coleman indicated Mr. Greelish. <br />O'Leary and Coleman have estimated the phase one appraisal <br />to cost $40,000 informed Mr. Greelish. Phase one includes a <br />summary report of value range for each property, topographical <br />plans and wetland review. Estimates of value will be submitted <br />by September 30, 1993 noted Mr. Greelish. <br />The second phase is the final appraisal to conduct the <br />taking informed Mr. Greelish. Two appraisals are necessary to <br />conduct the taking of the selected parcel. <br />The phase one appraisal will be adequate for the committee <br />to make a determination related Mr. Greelish. <br />***The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to enter into <br />agreement with O'Leary and Coleman as proposed pending Town <br />Counsel's review and approval. The motion seconded by Selectman <br />Costa. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />
