MONDAY JULY 26 1993 <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Future Agenda Item: Discussion of Town Meeting Article to <br />increase the number of members who will serve on the Jr/Sr High <br />School Building Committee. Ex-officio members and alternate <br />members to serve as full time voting members of the above <br />committee. <br />Waterways Commission re: Boat Ramp/Bass Tournaments: <br />Ben Gordon of the Waterways Commission was present to <br />discuss the requests for Bass Tournaments with the Board. Next <br />year, boat speed shall .be restricted to 6 mph, slow, no wake <br />prior to 8:00 a.m. The State is aware of this stipulation noted <br />Mr. Gordon. <br />The Waterways Commission has approved the Yankee Bassmasters <br />tournament of September 26, 1993 informed Mr. Gordon. The above <br />stipulation will apply to this tournament. <br />Selectman Jacobson indicated that another tournament may be <br />scheduled on the above date. An EPO must be present at the start <br />of a tournament consisting of twenty-five or more cars noted <br />Selectman Jacobson. <br />16 Mr. Gordon will review the tournament schedule of September <br />26, 1993. He will contact Jack Shepard of the Public Access <br />Board with reference to the EPO stipulation. <br />***The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the <br />Yankee Bassmasters of N.E. tournament on September 26, 1993 based <br />on the ability to supply an Environmental Protection Officer if <br />there are more than 25 cars scheduled. The motion was seconded <br />by Selectman Mills. VOTE: Motion carries. 4-1. Selectman <br />Jacobson is in opposition. <br />Transfer of Three Boat Ramps to the Public Access Board: <br />The Waterways Commission has voted to recommend the transfer <br />of three boat ramps to the Public Access Board informed <br />Mr. Gordon. The Public Access Board has funds available to <br />repair and improve the facilities noted Mr. Gordon. <br />Tom Fudala voiced objection to the State controlling Town <br />owned property. There is a significant amount of land in Ockway <br />Bay, Waquoit Bay and Pirates Cove noted Mr. Fudala. Will this <br />limit the Town's ability to use the land asked Mr. Fudala. <br />n <br />U <br />
