BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 12 <br />MINUTES <br />40 MONDAY, JULY 26, 1993 <br />Waterways Commission re: Boat Ramp Transfer: <br />The Board has requested the Waterways Commission to submit a <br />proposal relative to the repair and improvement of the boat ramp <br />facilities located at Waquoit Bay, Ockway Bay and Pirates Cove. <br />Mr. Gordon will review the above concern with CZM with <br />regards to improvement funds for the three boat ramp facilities. <br />The Public Access Board will be consulted to clarify their <br />proposal. Mr. Gordon will submit estimations to the Board for <br />review. <br />Dredge of Popponessset Bay: <br />Mr. Gordon indicated that communication received from DEP <br />dated July 31, 1993 is in reference to dredging work completed in <br />the above area on February 15, 1993. <br />Public notice of the Waterways permit application allows for <br />future maintenance dredging informed Mr. Gordon. If further <br />information is warranted, Robert Sherman is able to update the <br />Board indicated Mr. Gordon. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />` Discussion relative to COSTCO Project: <br />Selectman Caffyn submitted a memo dated July 21, 1993 <br />relative to the proposed COSTCO development for review. It is <br />important to discuss the ramifications of the project indicated <br />Selectman Caffyn. <br />Mashpee has not received enough information on the project <br />noted Selectma Caffyn. A protocol should be developed by the <br />Cape Cod Commission and communities to allow input into the <br />process of review. <br />Traffic will be a major impact to Mashpee informed <br />Mr. Fudala. He has estimated a 20% increase in traffic as a <br />result of COSTCO and increased signalization. Mr. Fudala has <br />forwarded his comments to the Secretary of Environmental Affairs. <br />The Board has requested an executive summary from the Town <br />Planner relative to the impact of COSTCO on Mashpee. This <br />includes economic development and increased traffic concerns. <br />40 <br />
