Y BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 MINUTES M NDAY I, MAY 10 1993 Public Discussion: Update WHOI Educational Research center: Mrs. Greelish requested an update of the current progress related to the Woods Hole oceanographic Research center proposal. Selectman ca fyn indicated that she and Selectman Costa participated in a presentation of the area last Friday. Doug Storrs and employee's; Robert Whritenour, Toni Fud la, Robert Sherman and Richard York also participated in the presentation of the proposed site noted Selectman caffn. This is a great opportunity for Mashpee. We are very excited about our land and it looks very good for us informed selectman caffn. Mr. Whrit-enour indicated that within the next week, three finalist townts will be selected for review. OLD BUSINESS: Discussion relative to Cape cod Commission Representative: Selectman caffyn indicated that George Benwa has -expressed interest to be re -appointed as Mashpee's representative to the Cape cod Commission. The position was advertised. No further candidates expressed interest noted Selectman Gaff n. *The motion was rude by Selectman costa to re -appoint George Benway as Mashpee's representative to the cape cod Commission for three year term to expire; April 25, 1996. The motion was seconded by Selectman Mills, VOTE: Unanimous. -o . Mr, Benway indicated -that he is willing to accept the position as Mashpee's representative to the cape cod commission. .He will -update the Board of Selectmen on a quarterly basis with regards to the activities of the cape Cod Commissione i : 10 p,m, Assessors - Introduction of Data Collector: Assessor; Les Greig presented Greg Fraserr the new Data Collector in the Assessor's office to the Board of selectmen. Mr, Greig noted that Mr. Fraser is also are appointed Assessor in the Town of Barnstable.
