BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />MON AY MAY 10t 1993 <br />7:15 p.m, Public Hearing: <br />Tillowbend Discontinuance of Quippish and Simons Roads: <br />Selectman vaccaro opened the Public Dearing in accordance <br />with the MA General Laws; chapter 82, Section 32A to conduct a <br />public hearing on the petition of Willowbend Development <br />Corporation to discontinue a portion of Quippish Road and Simons <br />Road. <br />Attorney Edward J.. Sweeney, Jr, was present on behalf of <br />illowbend corporation. <br />For the record, it was noted that Selectman Mills and <br />Selectman Jacobson are trustee's of the Willowbend children's <br />Charity Fund. <br />Attorney Sweeney has requested the Board grant a continuance <br />to the hearing for one week as a result of information received <br />from the Town Planner on Friday, May 7,1993. <br />n Friday, Attorney Sweeney became aware of previous action <br />made by the Board of Selectmen in 1987 granting the relocation o <br />uippish Road and Simons Road. <br />Attorney Sweeney has requested the one week continuance to <br />allow the title insurance company -to verify the abandonment as <br />approved in 1987. Attorney Sweeney also noted that he would like <br />to review the past minutes for further verification. <br />Selectman costa requested the Board grant a two week <br />continuance to the hearing. <br />IF <br />Mr. Whritenour indicated that the 1987 minutes of the prior <br />Board of Selectmen were reviewed by Town counsel. He indicated <br />that chapter 82, Section 32A of the MA General Law is not the <br />appropriate section for the type of action required to relocate a <br />road. <br />Jill Slayma er, abutter of the Willowbend property indicated <br />that she did not receive notice of the public bearing. <br />Selectman vaccaro closed the Public Hearing. <br />The motion was made by Selectman.caffyn to continue the <br />Public Hearing as filed by Attorney Sweeney on behalf of the <br />illowbend Development corporation to discontinue a portion of <br />uippish Road and -Simons Road to May 2, 13 at 7:15 p.. The <br />Motion was seconded by Selectman costa. VOTE: Unanimous. - ., <br />
