BOARD of SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />M NDA , JUNE ' ■ _ 1993 <br />COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br />New Seabury Waste Water Treatment Plant; <br />Communication was received from the Cape Cod Commission <br />relative to their .intent to discuss the New Seabury Waste Water <br />Treatment Plant on Tuesday, Tune 8, 19930 <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to submit <br />com un i oat i ors ' to the Cape Cod Commission to request an <br />extension. The Board has not had adequate time to review the <br />proposal. The motion was seconded by Selectman Jacobson. VOTE: <br />Unanimous. - . <br />. , Historical Commission: <br />Earle'Mar ters, Marie Scalley and several members of the <br />Historical Commission were present to discuss Mr.'Marsters <br />proposal to deed the land ]mown as the "Hicks Family Burial Site" <br />to the Town of Mashpee, <br />The land, located on the north side of Ashumet Pond is <br />approximately of an acre noted Mr, Marster. An archeological <br />study was conducted by the University of Massachusetts denoting <br />the area as a burial site. <br />Mr, Marsters presented the Chairman with a survey of the <br />proposal and deed to deed the land to the inhabitants of the Town <br />of Mash ee, through the Historical Commission for administration, <br />control and maintenance. <br />Ms, Scal ley indicated that Mr, Marsters cooperated fully <br />with the State and local Historical Commissions. She is pleased <br />with the proposal for -the Town of Mashes <br />The Town Clerk will be consulted as to previous Town Meeting <br />action relative to the above. The October Town Meeting will <br />formalize the -proposal if Town Meeting action was not rende red . <br />Town Counsel will review the deed as proposed. <br />*The motion was made by Selectman Mills to accept the land <br />offer from Earle Marters with appreciation pending research of <br />Town Meeting's vote of approval. The motion was seconded by <br />Selectman Jacobson, VOTE. Unanimous. -o . <br />40 <br />
