4 <br />BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />THUR S DAY, JULY 8r 1993 <br />Harbormaster Interviews: Perry Ellis; <br />Mr. Ellis indicated that he helped to set up the Ma h ee <br />Shellfish Commision, He has no problem taking direction from <br />other departments. <br />During peak hours, Mr. Ellis indicated that he would be a. <br />"hands on" Harbormaster and work closely with related groups. <br />Mr. Ellis is booming familiarized with computers and has <br />experience managing personnel. <br />Seventy-five to eighty-five percent of his time during <br />season will be on the water. To issue a ticket will be dependent <br />upon the individual noted Mr. Ellis. <br />Selectman Jacobson indicated that she has had previous <br />positive experience in working with Mr. Ellis. <br />p.m, Selectman Vaccaro in-dicated that the appointment of <br />Harbormaster will be taken under advisement at this time. <br />Mr. Gordon noted that Mr. Hans and his wife will volunteer <br />to assist the candidate in computer usagee <br />Selecttan Mills indicated that she is impressed with the <br />desire of Mr. Ellis to come back to the community. His <br />background offers more intimate knowledge of Mashpee ' s waterways. <br />Selectman Caffyn gave support to Hank Madden. He has made <br />changes, corrections and improvements to the department. The <br />collections have increased and he actively attend ' s meetings. He - <br />also <br />incorporated the training program noted Selectman Caffyno <br />Mr. Ellis offers police support indicated Selectman <br />Jacobson. When he was employed in Marshpee, he was well liked by <br />the community.. <br />The mooring situation has improved as a result of a lot of <br />people working on it noted Selectman Jacobson. It is obvious <br />that Mr. Ellis is down to earth and is easy going. He is anxious <br />to be in Mahpee to do the job. <br />Mr. Madden has done a good job in a lot of areas related <br />Selectman Vaccaro, The condition of the boats and moorings have <br />unproved. I recognize that he has fallen short is some areas, <br />but I feel he will follow through in some of the recommendations <br />as made tonight. <br />
