• <br />• <br />BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 6 <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 1993 <br />Recess 9:06 p.m. Meeting Resumed 9:17 p.m. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Leisure Services Organization: <br />Gus Frederick presented a draft of job descriptions relative <br />to the position of Leisure Services Director and Administrative <br />Secretary for review. <br />The Leisure Services Director as proposed by Mr. Frederick <br />initiates the planning process for development and implementation <br />of programs for residents and visitors of all ages. Included in <br />the position description is the coordination of community <br />services and supervision of the daily operation of the Leisure <br />Services Department. <br />As indicated in Mr. Frederick's proposed organizational flow <br />chart, the department should contain two half time program <br />supervisors and an administrative secretary. <br />Selectman Mills recommended to incorporate the Youth <br />Commission into the organizational flow chart as an advisory to <br />the Leisure Services Director. <br />It is the consensus of the Board to allow the Leisure <br />Services Advisory Council to review Mr. Frederick's proposal. <br />Further specifics will be obtained with reference to the job <br />description of the program supervisor. The organization of the <br />Leisure Services Department will be placed on the Selectmen's <br />agenda of September 7, 1993 for further discussion. <br />Designation of No Smoking Environment: <br />As a State Law mandate, smoking will be prohibited in all <br />school buildings as of September 1, 1993 informed Selectman <br />Vaccaro. <br />***The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to designate the <br />Mashpee Town Hall as a Smoke Free Environment effective September 1, <br />1993. The Building Inspector is authorized to designate a smoking <br />area in other Town buildings. The motion was seconded by Selectman <br />Caffyn. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Selectman Caffyn recommended to review the elimination of <br />cigarette vending machines in Mashpee. <br />
