• • BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 6 MINUTES MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 1993 Recess 9:06 p.m. Meeting Resumed 9:17 p.m. OLD BUSINESS: Leisure Services Organization: Gus Frederick presented a draft of job descriptions relative to the position of Leisure Services Director and Administrative Secretary for review. The Leisure Services Director as proposed by Mr. Frederick initiates the planning process for development and implementation of programs for residents and visitors of all ages. Included in the position description is the coordination of community services and supervision of the daily operation of the Leisure Services Department. As indicated in Mr. Frederick's proposed organizational flow chart, the department should contain two half time program supervisors and an administrative secretary. Selectman Mills recommended to incorporate the Youth Commission into the organizational flow chart as an advisory to the Leisure Services Director. It is the consensus of the Board to allow the Leisure Services Advisory Council to review Mr. Frederick's proposal. Further specifics will be obtained with reference to the job description of the program supervisor. The organization of the Leisure Services Department will be placed on the Selectmen's agenda of September 7, 1993 for further discussion. Designation of No Smoking Environment: As a State Law mandate, smoking will be prohibited in all school buildings as of September 1, 1993 informed Selectman Vaccaro. ***The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to designate the Mashpee Town Hall as a Smoke Free Environment effective September 1, 1993. The Building Inspector is authorized to designate a smoking area in other Town buildings. The motion was seconded by Selectman Caffyn. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Selectman Caffyn recommended to review the elimination of cigarette vending machines in Mashpee.
