I <br />0 <br />r 1 <br />u <br />BOARD OF SELE T M J1 <br />MINUTES -PUBLIC HEARING <br />THURSAY, SEPTEMBER 21 1993.� <br />Present: Selectman Caffynr Selectman Jacobson <br />Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour <br />Guests: Sharon Travers Gay <br />Meeting Called to order by Selectman Caffyn at 69.05 p.m. <br />Public Hearing re; FY 1993 Massachusetts Small Cities <br />Program Application <br />Selectman Caffyn read the Public Hearing notice as published <br />relative to the FY 1993 Massachusetts Small Cities Community <br />Development Program application. (enclosed) <br />Sharon Travers Gay of STG Consultant Services was present to <br />discuss the- FY 1993 Massachusetts Small Cities Program <br />Application components. <br />M. Travers Gay .reviewed several projects under <br />consideration as potential components of the Small Cities Program <br />application. <br />Renovations to the Senior Center Kitchen and Connection t <br />Municipal Natter Supply are proposed to complete the kitchen and <br />eliminate the existing well informed Nis. Travers Gay. <br />It is possible to separate the water line and renovation as <br />separate components indicates Nis. Travers Gay. Renovations do <br />not require connection to municipal water supply. <br />Mr. Rich of the Water District has supplied cost estimates, <br />maps and letters of support noted Ms. Travers Gay. Outreach <br />Coordinator, Lynne Waterman has also been supportive. <br />A second proponent of the application provides for Sidewalk <br />Construction on Old Barnstable Road and Route 151 informed <br />Nis, Travers Gay. <br />Walkways along the above area have been adopted by the Board <br />of Selectmen as an area of high priority as set forth in their <br />goals and objectives 'indicated Mr. Whritenour. <br />Old Barnstable Road and Route 11 are high traffic areas. A <br />walkway from old Barnstable Road along Route 151 to Mashpee <br />Commons and the new Stop and Shop will provide safety and benefit <br />to low and moderate income residents living in the Mashpee <br />Village area of town. <br />
