BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 5 <br />MINUTES <br />9 <br />APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br />Janes Lon <br />Mr. Long indicated that he was involved in supervisory <br />capacity as it relates to Civil Defense disasters. <br />Mr, Long has maintained a staff of 250 volunteers and <br />indicated that he respects their role. <br />Mr. Long has developed and monitored capital and operating <br />budgets. He was a former computer programmer* <br />45 p.m. Recess . ; 55 p.m. Meeting Resumed <br />Appointment of Council on AgingDirector: <br />It is the consensus of the Board to compliment the Screening <br />Committee with regards to the selection of the four finalists. <br />All candidates gave strong interviews. <br />Selectman Mills indicated that Mr. Long has a strong <br />management background, He has a sense of maturity and ability to <br />work with a multi management structure, <br />Selectman Caffyn indicated that Mr. Long is articulate and <br />very bright. He has educated himself with respect to what is <br />currently available on the Cape with .regards to elder services. <br />Selectman Caffyn indicated that she was also impressed with <br />Ms. Therrien. She appeared to have a lot of energy, diversity <br />and composure, Ms. Therrien also has a sense of humor noted <br />Selectman Caffyne <br />Selectman Costa indicated that he is most impressed with <br />Mr. Sager. M, Sager appeared to be a caring type of person* He <br />has the qualifications and ability to learn noted Selectman <br />Costa. It seems than Nor, Sager would benefit Mashpee on the long <br />tern basis and grow with the Senior Center. <br />Selectman Costa indicated that his second selection i <br />Mr. Long. <br />Selectman Jacobson indicated that Mr. Sager was <br />enthusiastic. She was also very impressed with Mr. Long. <br />Selectman Jacobson noted that many seniors are impressed with <br />r. Long. <br />0 <br />
