BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, OCTOBER 18r 1993 <br />7:15 p.m. Economic Development Committee re: Goals and <br />Priorities: <br />Spyro Mitrstas and Toni Potts of the Economic Development <br />Committee were present to discuss the goals and objectives of the <br />Economic Development Committee. Tom Fudala, the Town Planner was <br />also present for discussion. <br />Mr. Fudala indicated that the content of the goals and <br />objectives were based h upon the Regional Policy Plan, the Board of <br />Selectmen's Goals and -Objectives, the Town. survey and the Goals <br />and Policies as adopted i-n 1986. <br />Mr. Fudala indicated that the goals and objectives should <br />remain consistent with the above element goals, All goals and <br />objectives relate to the Comprehensive Plan noted Mr. Fudala. <br />Public Hearin is scheduled to discuss the goa-1s and <br />objectives prior to the Planning Board's vote indicated <br />Mr. Fudala. Town Meeting has the final approval. <br />r. Mitrocstas indicated that the goals and objectives as <br />set forth in the draft are very detailed and comprehensive. Some <br />of which may not be achieved. He recommended to reduce the list <br />of goals and objectives to achieve what Can he readily <br />accomplished. <br />Mr, Potts agreed, He recommended to simplify the list as to <br />long and short range goals and objectives. Mr. Potts suggested <br />to form a timetable of what is attainable. <br />Mr. Fudala indicated that ideallty, all four goals should be <br />recognized. He has offered to refine the draft of goals and <br />objectives with the Economic Development Committee* <br />Mr. Whritenour recommended to utilize the goals as key <br />Components in marketing around economic development, We should <br />promote the dualities of the community_ and encourage appropriate <br />locations and types to avoid development not desired suggested <br />Mr. Whritenour. <br />The discussion of signs followed relative to enhancing <br />Mashpee'ima e, selectman vaeearo authorized the Economic <br />Development Committee to develop si na e to promote and welcome <br />visitors to Mashee. <br />
