'BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />M NDAY , NOVEMBER 15j.1993 <br />Warrant Discussion/Execution: <br />Meeting called to Order at .r. by chairman vaccaro i <br />the Great Room, Town Hall for the purpose of executing the <br />Special Town Meeting Tarrant of December 4, 1993 related to the <br />design and construction of a new high school facility in the Town <br />f Mashpee,. <br />. <br />Three versions of the Special Town Meeting Warrant were <br />reviewed for consideration. Version #1 proposes to acquire by <br />purchase or eminent donnain, the route 151 site, Version #2 <br />proposes to acquire by purchase or eminent domain, the Mashpee <br />center -site. (Route 1 version #3 proposes to acquire by <br />purchase or eminent domain, the Route 151 site or Mashpee center <br />site. (Article #2, the Mashpee center site, Article #, the <br />Route 151 site) <br />The Board of Selectmen, Executive Secretary, members of the <br />High School Building committee and concerned citizens were <br />present to discuss the Special Town Meeting Tar rant prior to <br />execution. <br />Peter Dini io, Chairman of the High School Building <br />Committee and representatives from the architectural -firm of <br />Dru mey, Rosane and Anderson DRA of Newton were pre ent to <br />discuss the site investigation and feasibility study of the two <br />selected sites under consideration. <br />Tho two sites, referred to as the Route 11 site and Mashpee <br />center site or Route 130 are both acceptable sites for a high <br />school facility indicated Paul Rittenburq of DRA. Both sites <br />have been approved by SFB for high school design. <br />Site criteria as established by DRA was presented in matrix <br />fora for the Selectmen's reviews <br />Several favorable attributes to the Mashpee center site <br />include; a site more central to the population of the Towns <br />easily accessible to encourage walking and bile riding by <br />students, adjacent to existing sidewalks and planned biepaths, <br />accessible to encourage after hours community use, site central <br />to historic district and Town Hall facility, perceived reduction <br />in transportation costs and on site sewerage disposal -system <br />permitted for transfer for high school use. <br />0 <br />
