s # - r BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 1 MINUTES MNDA , NVE►iB1 15, 1993 _ - - - - - I Tarrant Discussion/Execution: When asked of the acquisition costs, Mr. Diniio indicated that a professional appraisal firm was hired to determine a value for both sites. It was concluded that the cost to acquire either site differs by approximately * Mr. Dini io indicated that he can't male comment as to the amount of the appraisals at this point. Richard -Sherman, the Conservation Agent recommended to further study both sites with rewards to wetlands and environmental issues. He noted that the center site has problems with flooding and intermittent stream* Several concerned citizens expressed concern to the center site for the location of a high school facility, other residents recommended to allow the voters to make the site determination. Vern Pocknett, Chief of the Wa panoag's and resident of Route 130 expressed concern to the use of the center site, This is a highly spiritual place for my people indicated Chief sly Foy. Steve Greet i h , at Mashpee resident and member of the High School Building Committee recommended to let the voters make the decision. He indicated that the -committee did not receive enough information to make the final determination. Noni Ferriday recommended to allow the voters to make the decision at Town Meeting. Jack McGee requested the Selectmen vote to eliminate the 130 site. He feels there are burial grounds throughout the area. Marie sealley also recommended to wive consideration to the burial grounds located in the center area of Mashpee. 9:00 P , M e. Warrant Execution: **The Motion was made by selectman Costa to support version #3 of the Special Town Meeting Warrant of December 4 p 1993. The snot ion . was seconded by Selectman Jacobson. VOTE* Unanimous. - , Selectman Caffyn absent. Version #3 will bring both site articles to Town Meeting. I
