BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, DEEMBER 20t 1993 <br />Communication from south a Beach state Park Advisor <br />committee: <br />The Department of Environmental Management has suggested the <br />Town not use the entire money authorized for payment to the Town <br />for the construction of Great Oak Road. DEM has recommended to <br />clear the encumbrances on Great oak Road by eminent domain <br />settlement or otherwise and finish engineering plans so that as <br />further funds may become available, Great oak Road would be <br />completed. <br />As indicated by Mr. Kirsner, the committee is strongly <br />opposed to DEM's proposal. Mr. Taylor recommended the Board <br />support the committee's position. <br />***The motion was mace by Selectman Mips to ratify the <br />recommendation of the South Cape Beach state Park Advisory <br />Committee. The motion was.seconded by selectman Jacobson. VOTE <br />a <br />Unanimous. -0. Selectman Costa absent. <br />South sandwich Road Floodi <br />The motion was made by Selectman Mills to place the <br />discussion of South sandwich Road on the Selectmen's agenda. The <br />motion was seconded by Selectman Jacobson, VOTE: Unanimous.. <br />-0, Selectman Costa absent* <br />Selectman Mills expressed concerns to the condition of South <br />Sandwich Road. The drainage systems located on private property <br />are not working properly. It is causing a serious problem on <br />public property curing inclement weather condition <br />Mr. Taylor indicated that he is aware of the problem* The <br />drains will be cleared during the interim* He will return to the <br />Board with a proposal to provide better drainage conditions to <br />address the area of concern4b <br />Adjournment: <br />***The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to adjourn at <br />7; o p,m, The Board will eater into Executive Session at this <br />time for the purpose of discussing strategies relative to the <br />purchase of land and negotiations. The Board will not re -convene <br />in open session.
