I
r
rr die
PARTIAL PLANNING BOARD MINUTES OF THE JUNE 1 7 9
A
1 ASHP PLANNING BOARD MEETING.* - .-I
, :
Present: Earle Marsters , Richard Terry , Donald Blakeman
F
Richardson Jonas, Harold Collins ' - r
On June 6 , 1979 Merwi.n Sturgis appeared ofore the hoard
with a preliminary. plan. It is Land Court Plan #2S384A.
Mr. Sturgis appeared before the hoar and stated he was in r
- a quandary. Mr. Sturgis did not know whether to attempt
to seek approval of an entire subdivision plan (Land Court
Plan #2538A) or simply to attempt to make Lot #22
salable lot. It was suggested by the board to Mr, Sturgis
that previously he had core before the board with the same
preliminary plan and it was indicated that a cul de sac
should be constructed in the Lot 22 area, Mr. Sturgis in-
dicated that he did not want to incur expenses for paving
without first a sense from the board whet-her- or not
4
his subdivision plan might be approved. I't was suggested
by the board that Mr. Sturgis would e to {page Sturgis
Lane so that the lots that fro urgis Lane could be
sold. It was further suggested by the - board t ..Mr. Sturgis
that there might be a possibility that a bond be put up
s o. that development could be facilitated. It was suggested
by the board that it would be much easier for Mr. Sturgis
to try to sell Lot 22 alone without attempting to have
his preliminary plan altered so that it might conform t
the zoning by- laws of the Town of Mashpee. It was further
suggested to Mr. Sturgis that if lie were to retain owner-
ship of the lots other than Lot 22 , that the other lots
would increase in .value over time. Mr. Philip Holmes ,
along with the board , suggested that the contour of Lot 22
be changed to conform to the 1501 frontage required under
the Zoning By-Law. A lune was drawn on the preliminary
plan showing Lot -22 to restructure Lot 22 to give it the
proper frontage. Consequently, the board voted to approve
and dial sign with an appropriate amendment Lot 22 showing
a minimum of 150 , frontage. Mr. Whitney who was also
present at the meeting, agreed to see to it that Lot 22
be redone on the plan showing a minimum 1501 frontage.
The Planning Board of the Town of Mashpee voted unanimously
to approve Lot 22 , further indicating that, the lot was
accepted as "Approval not rec uired" . The board also
indicated to Mr. Sturgi-s that Fora "A" be submitted to
the- board. A check for $20. 00 was submitted to the board
by Mr. Sturgis to cover costs.
- 4
On a motion by Richardson Jonas -and seconded by Richard
Terry, Earle Marsters was voted as Chairman as Selectmen
for an additional year.
On motion made by Richardson Jonas - and seconded by Donald
Blakeman, Richard Terry was voted as vice-chairman of
the Board of Selectmen.
