d Injury, illness or disability self-imposed, or resulting <br /> from the use of alcohol or drugs, shall not be considered a <br /> proper claim for any benefits under this section. <br /> e An employee shall be granted an additional day of <br /> leave or .a day's pay at the Department Bead's discretion if, <br /> while on sick leave, a designated holiday occurs which falls <br /> on or is legallyobserved ori Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, <br /> Thursday or Friday. <br /> f Payments is made under the provisions of this section <br /> shall be limited in the ease of an employee who is receiving <br /> Workmen's Compensation payments to the difference be- <br /> tween the amount paid by w rkmen's Compensation and <br /> the employee's regular rate. <br /> g 1n the event of. payments made to an employee under <br /> the pre-ceding sub-section, 'the Board shall debit the em- <br /> ployee's sick leave accrual by such amounts as it determines <br /> to be equitable in relation. to such payments with theex- <br /> ceptions of paragraph d , and in accordance with para- <br /> graph • <br /> (h) Nothing in this section shall beconstrued to conflict <br /> with Section 100 of Chapter 41 of the General Laws. <br /> 17: Bereavement Leave <br /> {a,) Emergency leave up to three days, at thediscre- <br /> tion of the Department dead, may be allowed for the purpose <br /> of attending the funeral of the deceased in -an -employee's <br /> immediate family wife, husband, mother, father, child, <br /> brother. or sister). Jury Leave <br /> An employee in full-time employment required to serve <br /> on a j ury and thus having to be absent f roan regular duty <br /> will, on -approved application, be pail the difference between <br /> the compensation received from jury duty and his regular <br /> compensation from the Town, upon proper evidence of jury <br /> pay granted. <br /> 1 <br />
