1 . Mlitary Leave <br /> - A full-time Town employee in the military reserve shall <br /> be paid the difference between the compensation received <br /> while on reserve -duty and regular compensation rates paid <br /> the employee by the Town. Such payment by the Town shall. <br /> be limited to -a period not to exceed two weeks in -any <br /> twelve 1. month period -axed shall not include payment to <br /> members of the National Guard, who may be mobilized dur- <br /> ing -an emergency. <br /> o, other Leave <br /> Leaves of absence -of -over three 3 months' duration,- <br /> except <br /> uration,except military leave, shall be considered a break in ernploy- <br /> ment and on return to work, the employee -shall have the <br /> status of a new employee, .unless -an extension of leave be- <br /> yond three 3 months has been recommended by theDepart- <br /> ment Head and authorized by the Board. An employee on <br /> approved leave of absence will not be entitled to any bene- <br /> fits without the-approval of the Board. Absences for,personal <br /> reasons, approved by the Department Hexad, may be charged <br /> to vacation leave upon application by the employee. Such <br /> absences, however, may not be charged -to vacation leave <br /> beyond that which the employee has earned at the time of <br /> such application. <br /> 1.. Effect of Partial Invalidity <br /> The invalidity of any section -of The Pian shall not in- <br /> validate any other section or provision thereof. <br /> . Workmen-I's Workmen-I'sCompensation and Insurance <br /> for the' Protective Services <br /> (a) workmen' Compensation'and Insurance for the Pro- <br /> tective Services policies, paid for by. the Town, are not the <br /> personal property of the employee. covered but belong to. the <br /> Town. Workmen's Compensation cheeks sent to employes <br /> must be turned over -to the Department. Hexad for proper <br /> accounting to the 'down Treasurer. <br /> b The employee is to be compensated so as to insure <br /> no loss in salary. Similarly, the insurance checks for the <br /> Protective Services employees must be turned over to the <br /> Department Head for proper accounting to the TownTreas- <br /> urer for payroll -adjustment. <br /> (c) workmen's Compensation and Insurance for Pro- <br /> tective -Services personnel are provided to insure that the <br /> employee is ompesated up to the regular salary schedule. <br /> 1 <br />
