Paid Holidays <br /> (a) The following clays shall be recogni.zsd as legal holidays <br /> within the meaning of the Plans New Year's Day, Martin Luther <br /> King Day; Washington's Birthday; Patriot's Days Memorial Day; <br /> Independence Day; Labor Day= Columbus Days Veteran's Day; <br /> Thanksgiving nay and Christmas Day= or arq other holiday declared <br /> by the State and the Federal GoverrmerYt .xith the Town is required <br /> to recognize. The actual dates of'these holidays may vary from <br /> year to year in accordance with the Town practices within the <br /> State of Massachusetts. (3n these days, regular employees shall <br /> be excused from all dad duty, except required workers shbe <br /> given time off or compensation (in accordance with the provisions <br /> of the section on overtime) at the discretion of the Department <br /> Head, <br /> (b) Every permanent employee,.shall be entitled to these des- <br /> ignated holidays on the following -terms: If paid an an hourly <br /> basis, he shall receive one (1) day's pay at his regular rate <br /> based an the number of hours normally worked on the day when <br /> the designated holiday occurs t if paid on a weekly basis , semi- <br /> mxthly or monthly, he shall be granted eaflh designated holiday <br /> without loss in pay.
