Permanent part-time employees <br /> who work twenty (20) hours or more, average per wAelc, sha11 <br /> Participate in the sick leave provisions and tb-is shall be <br /> based on the average weekly hours for the preceding six (6) <br /> months. <br /> (b) If the amount of leave credit provided has been or 3.s <br /> about to be exhausted, an employee may make an application <br /> for additional allowance to that provided under paragrao (a). <br /> Such application shall be made to the Board which is authori- <br /> zed to grant such+ additional allowances as it nay determine <br /> to be equitable after reviewing all circumstances including <br /> the employee's attendance and performance record prior to . <br /> canditions suQparting bis request for additional allowance, <br /> (c) A doctor's certificate at the expense of the employee <br /> may be required by the Department Head if an employee is ab- <br /> sent from work for three (3) consecutive days or more at one <br /> time or for ten (10) or more days in a calendar year, or if <br /> the ]Department Head his reasonable cause to believe the em- <br /> ployee may be abusing his sick leave-* Any employee claiming <br /> benefits under the injury leave or sick leave provisions of <br /> this Agreement, sha7,1 if requested, submit to an examination <br /> of s physician at the expense of the Town by a prysician <br /> designated by the Tawe, <br /> (d) Injury, 13.1ness or disability self-imposed or resulting <br /> from the use of alcohol or drags, shall not -be considered a <br /> proper claim for atq benefits under this section. <br /> (s) Leave arising from pregnancy shall not be considered a <br /> proper claim for ary benefits under this section. <br /> (f) Nothing in this section shall be construed to conflict <br /> with Section 100 of Chapter 41 of the General Laws <br /> 17. Bereavement Leave. <br /> (ac) Emergency leave up to three (3) days at the discretion <br /> of the Department Head may be allowed for the purpose of at-, <br /> tending the ftneral of the deceased only in employee's inanediate <br />
