EVALUATIONS AND PROBATION <br /> Performance Revie <br /> The Performance Review Policy of the Town of Mashpee has been <br /> established to help insure a the impartiality in selecting can- <br /> didates for work assignments, training, promotion and salary <br /> increases, I n addition, the �o l i c y provides employee i t h <br /> an accurate, orderly, objective and documented review of work <br /> performance at least once a year and assists in the most ef- <br /> fective utilization of personnel. <br /> Probationary Period <br /> For new personnel, there shall be a probationary period of <br /> six ( months. During the probationary Period, an employee <br /> may be terminated without prior warning and without cause* <br /> During the probationary period, the Personnel Board shall <br /> review the employee's record from time to time, and in no <br /> instance shall the employment be made regular without <br /> Performance Appraisal prepared by the Department Head. <br /> During the probationary period, an employee will not be <br /> entitled to sick leave, education benefits and vacation <br /> leave. However, an employee will be immediately entitled to <br /> Group Health Insurance coverage under the Town's plan and to <br /> holiday pay commencing from his date of employment. <br /> After statisfactory completion of the probationary period, <br /> sick leave and vacation leave shall be accrued retroactive to <br /> the date of employment. <br /> Regular standard part-time employe0s, shall be entitled to <br /> a l l fringe benefits on a pro-rated basis, on the same <br /> conditions that applies to regular full-tine employees* <br /> *The probationary period shall not be waived for any employee <br /> without the express authorization of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement should <br /> refer to their agreement. <br /> Waiver o m l oee Fr tib at i on <br /> le It is the policy of the Personnel Board to maintain <br /> periods of probation for new employees in accordance <br /> i th the Personnel Administration Flan. To encourage <br /> permanent employment with the Town, though, it is <br /> desirable to provide a limited waiver of certain pro- <br /> visions of the probationary period for those employees <br /> who have served on a temporary or part--time basis. <br /> . A temporary or pant-tine employee who has satisfactorily <br /> completed one equivalent year of ser-vice, as defined by <br /> this section, shall be en t i t l ed to have the probationary <br /> period waiaved for the purposes of sick and vacation <br /> (annual) leaves <br />
