MINUTES of MEETING of <br /> MASHPEE BOARD OF SELECTT <br /> Wednesday, January 24, 1974 4. <br /> Selectmen Peters , 'Connell and Hicks and Town Counsel, present. <br /> 1 . Mr. Paul Bucknam, representative of Whitman & Howard, Inc. , <br /> Engineers , discussed availability of potable water In the Town with <br /> view toward future municipal water system. He recommended pre- <br /> liminary surveys be made to insure the land would be ava l".1able for <br /> future needs. A USGS snap will be given to Assessors for delinea- <br /> tion <br /> elinea- <br /> tion of Town and unknown-owner lands in excess of 15 acres ; on the <br /> basis of this , an estimated cost of preliminary survey can be given. <br /> Ir. Marsters will have the Chairman of the water Study Committee <br /> contact Mr. Bucknam. <br /> 2. Letter received from Vernon A. Thomas requesting reading on uni- <br /> form shoes being included in Police clothing allowance . Fee1in o <br /> Selectmen is that specific shoes are required and should be included <br /> in the allowance. Letter will be sent to Chief Bingham requesting his <br /> thoughts . <br /> . Mr. DeLancey of Butch' s Garage , Route 130, requested Class l <br /> used car license . He was told of several complaints because of the <br /> unsightly appearance of his area. Weather conditions presently pre- <br /> lude significant improvement; however, he has cleaned up much o <br /> the area, is awaiting improved ground condition to fill in the land <br /> and has fencing for the front of his area on order. License will be <br /> issued with the provision that a l 1 improvements be completed by <br /> April 1, 1974. Deference was made to <br /> IF vehicles on the abutting <br /> Johnson/Hendricks property. Selectmen will have Police ascertain <br /> owners and contact thea requesting remo j 1 of the vehicles . <br /> 4. Mr. Neil K. Besse o -New Seabur' volunteered his expertise as a <br /> chemical and mechanical engineer to the Town. His schedule preclude <br /> regular attendance at meetings , but he is available on a non--scheduled <br /> basis . Selectmen will notify him of their decision. <br /> 5. Mrs .. Bingham discussed funding of expenses in connection with <br /> bicentennial. program. He has incurred approximately $130.00 in <br /> primarily travel expenses to date. Mrs . Bingham was advised t <br /> submit an article for the Annual Town Meeting warrant to cover these <br /> and future anticipated expenses , but no guarantee could be given <br /> that expenses to date, or those incurred between now and then, would <br /> be covered. <br />
