Hinutes of the Selectmen' s Meeting <br /> Wednesday, August 21 , 1974 <br /> All Selectmen and Town Counsel present . <br /> 1) No oil bids received . A call to Fred Earle, who is presently <br /> providing the Town with fuel oil, requesting a letter <br /> stating figures; if they intend to continue this service . <br /> 2) Mr. and Mrs, Melvin Whell.er, met with Selectmen and the <br /> Building Inspector Harold Collins regarding a utility <br /> shed they wish to place near their boundry Line which <br /> abuts New Seabury property. Selectmen advised lir. Wheller, no <br /> regulations supersede the Town by-laws . In this case a LS ' <br /> setback from the line. Therefore , Mrz Collins was instructed <br /> to issue a permit to the Whellers . <br /> 3) Mr, Harry Gordon director of R.S .V.P. and Mrs , Converse <br /> secretary met with the Selectmen and the Chairman of the <br /> Finance Committee, Mr , Hurlburt, to discuss their program <br /> and how it is financed . (Notes attached) , <br /> 4) Amelia Bingham, director of the museum met with Selectmen <br /> to obtain permission to advertise for bids for an addition <br /> to the museum, <br /> Mrs. Bingham stated, .there was money appropriated at town <br /> meeting and some money still remains from H.U.D. which <br /> could be used for this purpose, <br /> The Board advised Mrs. Bingham to complete the specifications <br /> which will be needed and then advertise for bids pending the <br /> approval of the Selectmen and/or town meeting. <br /> 5) Permission granted to the Ashument - John' s Pond Association <br /> to use the town hall for their monthly meetings. Free <br /> janitor service during the weekdays, but a direct payment <br /> to the custodian if the hall is used on Saturday or Sunday, <br /> 6) Mrs* 16irdre Greelish approached the Selectmen, offering <br /> her services to bring the town by-laws up-to-date . <br /> It was mentioned not many new by-laws have been created since <br /> the last book was issued in 1967 . Also, the cost of printing <br /> is a major consideration. <br /> Prises will be obtained for consideration to print up-to-date <br /> by-laws . <br /> Meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. <br /> jt f <br />
