Charles Peterson and Mr. and Mrs . Lisle <br /> Crawford met with- the Board to discuss the high water level <br /> in John' s Pond. They have lost 81 of water property frontage <br /> and some pine trees. They were told that a dam board had been <br /> removed, but. they see no change' " whatsoever and suggested that <br /> two boards be removed. Mr. Peterson would like to see the' <br /> pond lowered each fall. He also notes that there are 5 -- <br /> inch -herring that are trapped on one side of the dam trying <br /> to reach the lake, Mrs . Lisle said they have taken en pictur s <br /> and will know if there are any changes in the darn. <br /> Action: Contact the Fire Chief and have this problem checked <br /> out. Complainants are to check with this office to see what <br /> has been done. <br /> 2 . Wilbur oakle s stump Burn <br /> Mr. Charles Lawrence, Chairman of the Board of Health explained <br /> to the Selectmen that the Board -needs assistance from the <br /> Police Department to monitor, by photographing, Mr. Oakley s <br /> property to see if there is any evidence of fresh fill or <br /> earth being deposited as suggested by Town Counsel. <br /> Action: Police Chief will be requested to assist the Board <br /> of Health in this matter. <br /> , LAppointment of Assessor <br /> Robert BeLory, Char rman of the Assessors informed the Selectmen <br /> that the majority of which there are two) voted to fill the <br /> the assessor vacancy left by Robert Graham, with Constance <br /> Courtemanche. <br /> Motion by Benway to accept the Assessor' s decision of appointing <br /> Constance Cou.rtemanche as Assessor, filling the vacancy left <br /> by Robert Graham. Seconded by Garland. Declared a. unanimous <br /> vote by Chairman O'Connell., <br /> . Selectmen' s Secretray. <br /> Motion by Garland to appoint Beverly doss as Secretary to the <br /> Board of Selectmen. Seconded by Benway with an addition. That <br /> the two top applicants be informed that there is a need <br /> for evening secretaries and that all applicants receive a. <br /> thank you letter for applying. Declared unanimous by Chairman <br /> O' Connell. <br />
