Town Cou sel was present. <br /> .. Bradford Norman, Recreation Director, met with the Board re- <br /> darding the recommendation for five additional appointments <br /> to the Park & Recreation Commission. It presently consists <br /> of five members. They are Mark Lopez, Chuck Green, Ray Martini , <br /> Larry Dove, and Richard Oakley. The additional members will <br /> add 3 women and two youngsters to the Commission, representing <br /> a cross-section of the Town. After review of the candidates , <br /> Selectman Benway motions to appoint Carol Jacobson, Ernestine <br /> Gray, violet DeDruyn, Mike Sloane, and. Darlene Scott to the <br /> Commission. The Alternates will be Janes Soltis and Jayne Lee <br /> Ene lla, Seconded by Mr, Garland. Mr. Benway noted that two <br /> of the members , Mike Sloane & Darlene Scott, - represented the <br /> 1ashpee Diddle School, and that three women were appointed, <br /> with one being a member of the Tribal Council. Motion de- <br /> clared unanimous . The appointments expire 6/30/80. <br /> On a second subject, Irr. Norman asked the Board to consider <br /> the proposal of Cape Cod Landscapes , Inc. in the amount of <br /> $1, 380 . 00 to d emergency work on the Little League Field and <br /> w <br /> some work on the larger field. The Little League Field has <br /> been invaded by grubs and needs to be upgraded to avoid injuries <br /> next season, If this minimal work is not done, the town may <br /> lose its original investment, <br /> Being the only Kittle League Field in town, and to prevent <br /> any possible inj'u' ries next season, the Board determined this <br /> field work to be emergency in nature. Motion by Selectman <br /> Benway to accept the proposal. of Cape Cod Landscapes , Inc. .in <br /> the sure of $1, 380, 00 to be expended from the Town Maintenance <br /> Expense Account. Seconded by Selectman Garland. Declared a <br /> vote. <br /> . Motion by selectman Benway to appoint Henry Godleski as the <br /> Emergency Fuel Energy Director, Thomas McGuire as Assistant <br /> Emergency Fuel Energy Director, and Frank E. Hicks as Gas In- <br /> spector. Seconded by Selectman Garland. Declared a vote.. <br /> 3 . Albert Hollander, resident of Popponesset Island, is the se- <br /> lected individual from this area to obtain any records which <br /> may indicate the owner of the Popponesset Bridge, Mr. Hollander <br /> asked the Board if they were interested in suing the New ea- <br /> bury Corp. for labor costs incurred to repair the Bridge. <br /> Chairman O' Connell said he would not know what grounds New <br /> eabury could be sued under until he discussed this with Town <br /> Counsel.. Mr. Hollander was guided to the newspaper~ microfilms <br /> at the Falmouth Library for background on the bridge, and it <br /> was suggested that he cheek the old town reports for information. <br /> w <br />
