SELECTMEN' S I N UTE S <br /> October 31, 1979 <br /> Page 2 <br /> In regards to the 1962 cluster zoning case of New seabury,. Town <br /> Counsel would have a more complete file on this . <br /> 40 s lectman Benway suggested that the number of street lights be <br /> checked to see if the Town is in fact, provided with the a--:- <br /> mount of lights that - it pays for. This issue was discussed <br /> at a recent selectmen Association Meeting., <br /> 5. Representative Jerry Cahir will be asked by the Board to sub-- <br /> .mit special legislation for: the State to take over Route <br /> 151, the "Memo' randum of Understanding" concerning south Cape <br /> Beach, the amendment to the -new restriction for licensed wire <br /> Inspectors IL-0. 141) , and -reimbursement fr Legal monies ex- <br /> pended by the Town on the land claim suit. <br /> . Fire Chief Willis met with the Board to accept the official <br /> proclamation, which joins Governor King in designating Nov. 1 <br /> through Nov. 18, 1979, as Emergency Medical Services ' Week. <br /> Chief Willis said that at - one time Massachusetts was rated as <br /> the poorest state in medical services , but is now top, with <br /> California being number one, <br /> Dr. Posen, via a grant, dial a medical survey for the Cape <br /> Islands Emergency Medical Services. The Cape & Island rated <br /> as one of the top ten in the country.6 <br /> This being the first year to proclaim the week of November 12 <br /> as Emergency Medical Services ' Week, and just becoming aware <br /> of it, the Department has made no special plans , but foresees <br /> special planning in the years to corm, as this will be an an- <br /> nual event. <br /> 7 , Richard Seaman and Greg Hirth, RE: Dog Training at the old Town <br /> Hall, did not show for their appointment. <br /> . Ray Martini , speaking on behalf of the Lion' s Club, said the <br /> Club was unable to meet with the Board to discuss the lease to <br /> take over the old Town Hall , as they have an attorney reviewing <br /> the proposed lease by the Town, <br /> 9. Discussion: monies to repair the Dog officer' s vehicle. <br /> The Board, on October 5, 1979 , requested the Finance Committee <br /> to approve the cost to repair this vehicle' from the Municipal <br /> Equipment & Repair Account. on October 29, 1979 , the Finance <br /> Committee responded in the negative, stating that the Board <br /> did not seek prior approval from the Committee to expend from <br /> this account (needs the- concurrence of both Boards) , but in- <br /> curred costs from Jul.y to October, and now seeps approval. <br /> The selectmen`; - lY` in letter dated October 30 , 1979 , ex- <br /> lained that the Town mechanic had a major in ' <br /> p � Jur in Jul , and <br /> � � <br />
