r <br /> r <br /> Page 8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> minutes <br /> January 10, 1994 <br /> Jr/Sr High School Building Committee: <br /> Mr. l ini io invited members of the Board of Selectmen to attend the interview process and <br /> review past interview tapes. <br /> Town Planner r : Planning Grant ,point Proposals: <br /> Tom Fudala was present to discuss gree proposed pilot supplemental planning grants for <br /> consideration. Approximately $50,000 has been targeted for the Upper Cape to fund supplemental <br /> and/or combination planning grants informed Mr.Fudala. <br /> The first proposal will allo rfor;a joint Falrnouth/Mash ee study of transportation facilities <br /> focusing on coordinated traffic projections and roadway/bikeway facility design. The proposed <br /> budget has been estimated at$18,000 indicated Mr. Fudala. <br /> The second proposal is a joint feasibility study between 1 lashpee and Sandwich to establish <br /> a Cape Cod'frail System. The cross Cape trail would be a walking trail from South-Cape Beach to <br /> Sandy Neck indicated 11r. Fudala. <br /> The move proposal will also promote t1green tourism' noted Mr. Fudala. The proposed <br /> budget for the second project is $19,750. <br /> The third proposal is a joint application with Mash pee, Sandwich and Barnstable to develop <br /> a groundwater model and consistent Zone II delineations for the adjoining areas of the three towns <br /> that are a source for public: water supply wells. <br /> Where are several options to the above noted Mr. Fudala. As a result, the proposal remains <br /> in draft form with a proposed budget carp of $30,000. The proposal is scheduled to be further <br /> refined in early January between the applicable parties. <br /> The grant proposals must be submitted to the Cape Cod Commission Office by January 28, <br /> 1994 indicated Mr. Fudala. Letters of support from the Board of Selectmen and Local Planning <br /> Comm ittee should be included in the grant application. <br /> Mr. Fudala recommended the Board vote to support the grant proposals-as specified and <br /> submit a letter of support to the Cape Cod Commission. <br /> Selectman Gaff n recommended to seely additional grant funding to acidness health issues <br /> for Upper Cape citizens to include cancer research. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Jacobson to approve the Pilot Supplemental <br /> Planning Grant proposals; to include a letter of support to the Cape Cod <br /> Commission by January 28,1994 as recommended. 'The Executive Secretary i <br /> authorized to submit correspondence to the local County Health Department to <br /> seek possible grant Funding for cancer research. Motion seconded by Beltran <br /> Caffyn. VOTE: Unanimous. -o. <br />
