r Page 9 Board of Selectmen Minutes January 10, 1994 NEW BUSINESS: Proposal for Hunan Services Strategic Planning Session Selectman Caffyn submitted a memo to the Board dated January 4, 1994 relative to a Proposed Human Service Deeds Strategic Planning Session. In response to recent student test scores and related performance of 1lashpee students, Al Polsi of the"Taxpayers Association and Dr. IeMoura developed the proposal to conduct at planning session on Wednesday, January 2 , 1994 to address human service needs indicated Selectman Caffyn. In order to move the process forward to develop a profile of human service needs, data is crucial to prioritize needs and aid in future attempts to receive grant funding noted Selectman Caffyn. A facilitator has been recommended to attend the above session to conduct the needs assessment and prepare a qualitative informational document at a cost of$700 indicated Selectman Caffyn. At this time, the support of the Board is sought to sponsor the strategic planning session and appoint two representatives to participate indicated Selectman Caffyn. Selectman Caffyn indicated that funds are currently available in the Leisure Services Department budget for the use of a facilitator. Mr-. Whriten ur noted that funds could be utilized in the Leisure Services Department revolving fund and/or Community School account., `Selectman Jacobson and Selectman Caffyn have offered to attend the planning session representing the Board of Selectmen. Motion made by Selectman Mills to support the effort of the Human Service Needs strategic Planning Session as proposed with funding initiated by the Leisure Services Department.
