Page <br /> r <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 2 , 1994 <br /> IA, Inc., d/b/a Deer Crossing Market: <br /> et: <br /> As noted by the Executive Secretary, the license application received <br /> for the conversion of seasonal liquor licenses pursuant to 17B of <br /> Chapter 138 MGL is subject to the interpretation of the Alcoholic <br /> Beverages Control Commission (ABCC) in its application. <br /> Douglas Beecy,President, Clerk and Treasurer of Deer grossing <br /> Market was present to discuss the license app cation with the Board. <br /> As noted by lir. Peecy, the store is operated with his wife serving as <br /> Vice-President of the corporation. <br /> Mr. Ieecy indicated that he has owned the,store for fire years and <br /> maintains the oldest beer and gine and seasonal liquor license in Mashpee. <br /> No violations have occurred With either license noted Mr. Beecy. <br /> No public comment at this time, <br /> Selectman Caffyn indicated that A CC suggests a Town with a quota of <br /> 10,000, should have two liquor licenses and five beer and gine licenses. <br /> It seems excessive to have sic year round all-alcoholic package goods <br /> store licenses indicated Selectman Caffyn. <br /> On behalf of Deer Crossing Market, Selectman Costa indicated <br /> that the establishment services a lot of people as a grocery/convenience store <br /> in addition to searing the public with a package goods store. <br /> Tie percentage of space for alcoholic beverages is 420 sq. ft. noted <br /> Selectman Costa. Alcoholic beverages are sold as a convenience <br /> to residents and customers. It was noted that under the license <br /> agreement, the space is limited with regards to alcohol sales. <br /> Selectman Nfills indicated that 20 of floor space is dedicated <br /> to the sale of alcoholic beverages as stated in the license application. <br /> Being no further comment, Selectman Mills closed the Public <br /> Hearing at 7;45 p.m. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Costa to approve the license <br /> application of BIA Inca ba Deer Crossing Market <br /> for an All-Alcoholic Package Goods Store license <br /> effective January 1, 1995. Motion seconded b <br /> Selectman Vaccaro, <br /> VOTE -1, <br /> Selectman Caffyn in opposition. <br />
