Motion seconded by Selectman Costa. <br /> Board of Selectmen VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Housing Authority VOTE: Unanimous. - . <br /> 7:27 p.m. Public Dearing: <br /> Best Buy Beverage, Inc.: <br /> Selectman Mills opened the Public Hearing on the application of <br /> Best Buy Beverage, Inc. for an All-Alcoholic Package Goods Store <br /> license in accordance with MGL Chapter 138, Section 17B. <br /> Mr. whritcnour submitted communication to the Board dated <br /> September 2 , 1994 relative to the two applications <br /> received for the conversion of seasonal liquor licenses pursuant to <br /> the newly adopted section 17B of Chapter 138 of the General Laws. <br /> It was noted that a Public Hearing will follow on the application <br /> of BIA, Inc, d/b/a Deer Crossing Market. <br /> As advised by the Executive Secretary, the new statute is subject <br /> to the interpretation of the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission <br /> (ABC }in its application. <br /> As noted by Mr. Whriteur, the ABCC was contacted regarding <br /> Section 17B. They indicated that they favor an interpretation of <br /> the law which limits its application to only those establishments licensed <br /> prior to June 30, 1984, <br /> With regards to the conversion, Mr. whritcn ur indicated that the <br /> Board can convert one license per year. The Board can also approve an <br /> application for an All-Alcoholic Package Goods Store effective <br /> January 1, 1995. <br /> Arthur DePaul, 32 Thornberry Circle, Manager of Best Buy Beverage <br /> y was present to discuss the license application with the Board. As noted <br /> by Mr. DePaul, the establishment located on 16 Echo Road is the only <br /> package goods sure in the area. <br /> Seven local residents are employed by the store informed Mr. DePaul. <br /> We serve the local community and offer a redemption center indicated Mr. <br /> DePaul. It was noted that approximately 350 to 400 customers are scared <br /> during the winter months in relation to 250 to 300 seasonal customers. <br />
